The Government Canyon Trailhead is a small design build project designed to house a map for the new handicap accessible Discovery Trail. It was important for the park to have a place for hikers to rest and shaded place to study the trail maps. The material pallet and design came from the existing architecture which is made up of rusted steel pipes, cedar siding and corrugated metal roof. The project went through three rounds of elimination before being selected by a panel. After which the final drawings were produced and the construction began. All aspects of the process were completed by the senior class.
